Most moms believe that having a successful career and being able to take care of your kids properly is a somewhat impossible thing to do. I beg to differ. All it takes to be able to juggle both sides of your life effectively (and still have time left over for your better half), is to be organized.
When I say “be organized”, it generally means in all aspects. Try to be as organized as possible when it comes to your schedules, and stick to what you have planned as much as possible in order for you to have enough time and energy for your kids, your spouse, your work, your home and yourself. While this may seem like a rather tall order, a lot of women have actually succeeded in doing this, and all they had to do is to really be organized.

For instance, when it comes to my kids’ homework, I make it a point that I go over these with them when I get home from work. I do this by making sure that they give me their list of things to do in an orderly manner, and that all they need for their schoolwork is also in proper order. For projects and artwork, they can easily get these done without much fuss since their art materials and equipment can be easily found in a well-organized cubby shelf. Like I said, organization helps.
When it comes to having time for myself and my husband after taking care of my kids’ homework and projects, this is also done rather easily. By teaching my kids to clean up after themselves after they are done with what they need for school, I get to sneak off and have some me time before snuggling with my hubby for our “us” time. As always, organization (and training the kids to put things away when they are done with these at an early age) saves the day.
You might think that doing these things will make you come off like a drill sergeant, or someone who is a control freak. I don’t think of it in this aspect. I think of it as a way for me to fit into a busy life everything that I believe is important to me. Not doing things this way, and not having the kind of organizational tools that I need in order to achieve this (like shelves, cubbies, storage bins, and the like) will be worse since that would make me neglectful of all that needs to be taken care of.
